BEHOLD!
97.68% done, the bike still needs a 1/2 link in the chain and a tensioner. We're using my Rennen as a stopgap measure and the remaining parts will be here Thursday.
Working with an eBay purchased steel frame ($40) we did our best to keep the parts under $1000, including wheels built by me.

Dude you made out. I still ride a 1994 Cronus that I bought new. It retailed for $1200 with a triple-butted cromoly frame and was Fishers 2nd best bike that year. Getting that frame for $40 is sick.
I hope this rig is still riding. I'm building a retro bikepacker (disc conversion and mullet wheels) based off my old 94 Cronus. Unfortunately all I could find was a HooKoo in my size.
Nice project. I am still rockin an original Cronos with the front fork replaced with a surly rigid long ago. Has been a really great woods bike and street bombing bike. Thought of selling many times but just too much fun everytime I throw a leg over. It's a keeper.
